It is hard to imagine that Friday marks the end of another term and half of 2018 already gone! It has been a great start to the year working with Prep to Grade 2 students. I particularly enjoyed the music activities on Boomwhackers and glockenspiel we did together this semester. I hope they all have enjoyed their time in Performing Arts and that they have just as much fun in Chinese with Mrs Dulics.
Well done to the Grade 1-2 students who have performed at Assembly the last two weeks. It is always a big challenge to stand on stage in front of your peers, family and friends. You all did a terrific job! I look forward to working with the Grade 3 to 6 students in Performing Arts, after the holidays! Have a wonderful and safe break.

It certainly has been a busy time in Performing Arts!
This term, many Grade 4 students have been assisting with our transition programs for our future Prep students in 2019. One of these programs is where I visit our local Preschools/Childcare centres and take our Performing Arts Captains and some Grade 4 students along to facilitate dance, drama and music activity rotations for the 4 year-old groups. Thanks to the following students for their patience, kindness, great leadership skills and showing the TPPS values so well whilst working with the kinder students: · Lachlan, Christian, Ruby, Ashi, Ariana and Mia (Deep Creek Preschool), · Aless, Thesan, Leeroy, Zac, Performing Arts Captains – Chantelle and Hayley (Gumnut Gully Preschool), · Lynette, Rihanna, Jemma, Molly, Toby and Cruz (Imagine ELC), · Jagger, Josh C, Rihanna O, Josh R, Hudson and Polly (Templestowe Preschool) and · Ari, Nicole, Georgia, Nolita, Finn and Maddison (Yarra Valley Preschool). Thank you also to Viana, Marko, Stylian, Riley, Alexis and Emily who all assisted the Performing Arts ‘Taste of School’ session. They were a great help ensuring it all ran smoothly and that our new Preps were entertained. Prep students have continued to play games, sing and perform songs with the Boomwhackers. They are doing a great job at remembering all the colours (Red, Orange, Yellow, Light Green, Dark Green, Purple and Hot Pink), notes (C, D, E, F, G, A, B) and Solfege names (Do-Re-Mi-Fa-Sol-La-Ti) that all go together.
The following classes 1A, 1B and 1E have been busy learning the song “Count on Me” by Bruno Mars and playing the chorus on the Glockenspiel. They will perform the song at assembly on Friday 29th June. Please note that this will be at an earlier time slot of 1:40pm, due to it been the final day of Term 2. Grades 1/2T, 2AF and 2M have also been learning the Glockenspiel. They will be performing their version of “Frere Jacques” at assembly on Wednesday 20th June. |
