Term 1 saw the launch of our 2016 TPPS Drama Club for Grade 3 to 6 students.  There was such an amazing amount of interest from students to participate that it was decided to run two groups, one for Grade 3/4 students (Future Legends) and one for Grade 5/6 students (Hollywood Legends).

FUTURE LEGENDS

During Term 2, Future Legends will be working on producing a play titled "Wake me up before you go" written by Jo Daly with creative ideas from the group.

The play is based in Drama Rock where an ungrateful pussycat has a spell cast upon her, by the dark and mysterious Crocka the Crocodile, which puts her into a deep, deep sleep. At the end of winter her friends realise that she has not yet woken and very unlike her not yet prepared for the upcoming big disco, so they go to visit Puss. Her friends of Drama Rock gallantly try to wake her from this slumber using various imaginative and creative methods along with singing and dancing

Will Pussycat’s friends have success and break Crocka’s spell? Or will Puss sleep forever?!

HOLLYWOOD LEGENDS

Working with the Grade 5 and 6 students thus far, has been a flurry of excitement and creativity as they share their ideas enthusiastically. After much discussion, Term 2 will see the Hollywood Legends working on a play written by Jo Daly adapted from the students' ideas.

The play will see the students audition for a position at the highly regarded 'Elite School of Arts' where their studies will culminate in an end of year Showcase. Watch as students develop their artistic discipline, make friends and overcome challenges as they settle into their new school.

Will stage fright be overcome? Will self-belief be built? Will everyone keep their position for the following school year?

Drama Club - 14th October 2016

On Tuesday 11th October both Drama Club groups had their performances in the School Hall. ‘A Night of Drama’ was a fun evening and a wonderful way to celebrate the end of the 2016 Future and Hollywood Legends hard work over the year. All the students did an amazing job! Their talents, creativity and willingness to accept some of our crazy dramatic ideas have been fantastic throughout the process.
