Hello everyone!
Performing Arts this year has started with students from Grade 1-4, I shall look forward to working with the Foundation, Grade 5 and 6 students during the second semester. All classes have commenced with discussing expectations and goals for their three Performing Arts roles – performer, classmate and audience member. There have been spectacular suggestions, I particularly liked: · “Be brave and have confidence” for Performer · “Appreciate all performances” as an Audience member and · “Have an open heart” as a classmate. Grade 1-2 students have being doing group dancing and choreographing some steps to well-known children’s songs. A touch of drama has struck Grade 3; they are working on developing a small group act to add into their class play. Grade 4 students are currently developing a script for Puppet shows based on well-known fairytales, children stories and television shows. Choir! Choir has started in a flurry of excitement! Due to the level of interest from the students, I have decided to have a Junior Choir for Grades 2-3 and a Senior Choir for Grades 4-6. Term 1 - rehearsal times are on Tuesdays: · Lunch 1-1:30pm for Junior Choir and · Session 6 2:40-3:20pm for Senior Choir. Choir students should have received song lyrics along with a website for their music on YouTube should they wish to do further work at home with parents’ permission. Next week, Tuesday 28th will be the final sessions for new students to join – so if your child is interested please encourage them to come along. Please stay tuned for when we will be performing at Assembly!
