This is what we are working on in Performing Arts this term:
Grade 3 – a dance unit with our focus on Boot Scootin’ Line Dancing. Grade 4 – are creating their own puppet shows using a familiar text as a catalyst for their scripts. Grade 5 – a music unit with our focus on African Drumming. Grade 6 – are creating their own dance in small groups that incorporates the dance elements and some choreographic devices. CHOIR Are busy working on learning four songs to perform at our Christmas Concert that is on Wednesday 12th December, 6-8pm. DANCE TROUPE Both Dance Troupes are continuing to perfect their routines, which will also be showcased at the Christmas Concert. Recent rehearsals have been interrupted due to other school events (Talent Quest, Public holidays, Choir), but next week we will be back to regular practices! TALENT QUEST Congratulations to all those students that participated in the auditions for the Talent Quest 2018. The judges certainly had a difficult task due the very courageous and creative performances and talents that were showcased! At assembly, last Wednesday Hayley and Chantelle (Performing Arts captains) announced The Talent Quest Finalists. The judging panel and I are all looking forward to the Finals that are taking place tomorrow at lunchtime (1-1:50pm) in the Hall. Please note that audiences are welcome. Winners from The Talent Quest 2018 Finals will be announced at assembly on Wednesday 28th November.
