Grade 4 students have commenced their visits to our local kindergartens and preschools. They have been wonderful representatives for our school and are doing a fantastic job as ‘Mini Teachers’. Thank-you to Rosa, Ben, Emily, Chloe, Harry and Ellyse from 4U who attended Imagine Childcare and Kindergarten Templestowe. Thanks also to the following students who visited Lower Templestowe Preschool: Shaya, Indi, Taryn, Alicia, Chloe from 4M and Stephen and Eran from 4U.
Grade 4 students have almost completed their Puppet Shows; it has been a crazy experience since we started creating puppets and sceneries but an enjoyable one. Grade 3 and 4 students are now working on a dance and music unit. More details will unfold as we further investigate the students’ interests and then the direction of where we will be taking our inquiry. Grade 2 students are commencing the recorder – they will learn how to play and read music following the Recorder Karate program. Along with answering some of their diverse wonderings they came up with when asked, ‘What would you like to know or learn about the recorder?’ The following are some of the students’ questions: · How long will it take to be an expert? An expert is when you know how to play a footy team song. · How is it made and by who? · Can you use something other than your breath to play it? · Where is it from? · How does it attract snakes? Grade 1 are commencing the glockenspiel – learning how to play and read music. We received delivery on Wednesday of our new instruments for the students to utilise, which was perfect timing for 1/2E.
